This is Emebet Fekadu. She is now 13 years old. Her father was a seventh grade teacher before he died of AIDS. She is the oldest of three children. After the death of her father, her mother Sinknesh had no way to provide for her family. Being a dedicated Christian woman, she prayed to God to somehow make a way for her and her children. Emebet and her siblings were the first to receive support from Hand of God Ministries. Among the mothers and fathers of these children, Sinknesh is the only one who does not have AIDS. The support of Hand of God Ministries has had a huge impact on the lives of this family.

When I was there a year ago and asked Emebet what she wanted to be when she grows up, she said an engineer. This year, she wants to be a full time church worker.
